Communication Studies Spearheads Alternative Spring Break

Charlotte Morrison and Skye Gentile are preparing to offer our students an alternative to the usual shenanigans that Spring Break often brings. Rather than causing trouble, we want to cause good, by offering our students a rare opportunity helping people in Costa Rica. Through partnering with Cross Cultural Solutions, the volunteering possibilities are endless, and the experience life-changing. This cross cultural adventure is an experience that can help define your future, and enable you sculpt the life you hope to lead--we hope you will join us.

If you are interested or would like information, please contact Skye Gentile at Skye.Gentile@cabrillo.edu. I will be available via email to field questions over the summer, and both of us are available come Fall.

We are excited to offer this rare opportunity for our students--and we look forward to future endeavors around the globe.

Target date: Spring Break April 11-19th 2008
Target Location: Costa Rica

Our goal is to have the cost of this trip 100% funded through grants, donations, and collective fundraising. The estimated cost for the trip is approximately 25,000. The only cost for students will come in the form of securing a passport, visa (if necessary) and immunizations (if necessary), and a significant time commitment helping the team raise funds!

More details to follow, as location and project information becomes available. Our target location is Costa Rica, and there is currently a tentative date of April 12th, however that trip is limited to 13 people total.
